In this free, hands-on session, participants will learn the basics of Kolam from understanding dot patterns to creating simple, beautiful designs. This workshop encourages patience, focus, and creativity, making it a calming and joyful experience in a shared community space.

Join Us for August Art Lounge: Kolam Art at Legacy Square. This month's Art Lounge invites creatives of all skill levels to slow down, relax, and explore the beautiful tradition of Kolam art. Join us at Legacy Square for a fun and welcoming outdoor session where we'll learn about this South Indian art form and create our own designs using simple patterns and techniques.
Kolam is a meditative, geometric style of floor art traditionally made with rice flour and created as a daily practice of creativity and mindfulness. During this session, participants will have the chance to experiment with patterns and create temporary designs right on the ground/floor board.
We'll provide all the supplies—you just bring your creativity and curiosity! Take a break, connect with fellow creatives, and enjoy a hands-on afternoon of art in the open air.
